manderlock, i LOVE illusion of gaia, known as illusion on Time here in euro land ^^
.....
(guess im well strange, but my first crush was Fredan ^^ the guy with the lang blond hair that the kid turned into...man, i must be twisted ^^)

did you ever see the second one, Terranigma?
that was great too, but only came out in PAL regions....you had to first climb out of the center of the world, then rebuild everything, from plants, animals humans to civilasation....

Twighlight princess will be awsome....in the OMG, i can die happy now kinda thing.
i know it....it gives me chills so bad, it makes me cold in the middle of a hot flush ^^
cold down to the toes, all the way down, with hairs standing on end on arms and legs,
and i got just the arms ones when occarina came out ^^

so if im freezing from just watching the promo grainy dvd shtick, its gona blow all us Link buffs into tiny little chuncks^^

Too many youngin's here, does no one remember the grandure of X-Com: UFO Defense. That is by far the best game I have ever played.

Console game I would have to vote Secret of Mana on the SNES.

OMG, the X-Com series is freakin awesome! UFO Defense was ok, and so was Terror from the Deep, but my favorite X-Com game was Apocolypse, which is funny cause it came as a bonus with X-Com Interceptor (also badass ^ ^) and I ended up playing Apocolypse MUCH longer. Wonder if another X-Com game will ever be made.....it's been forever since I've seen one. Secret of Mana was also one of the best RPG's I've ever played, probably #2 or 3. I plan to download it as soon as I get my hands on the Nintendo Revolutions (NINTENDO ALL THE WAY, FTW!)

When Guild Wars came out I decided to remove all the other games from my system (a decision which I kinda regret since I can't find my Frozen Throne CD anywhere). However, there was one game that I couldn't force myself to remove, and that game is Alpha Centauri. It's still the best game I have ever played.

Best Game of all time: "River City Ransom" for the NES

Who can deny the sheer awesomeness of picking up a knocked over foe an using him to repeatedly bash opponents in the head?

How can we pick the greatest game ever when there are still many games to be made

however i do have a good list

guild wars (before farming nerf)

neverwinter nights

age of empires, and all the exp but the III

diablo (all of them)

im getting warcraft III pack (so far enjoyable)

midtown madness 2 (fun to smash the cars)

and others

however with games always being made i cannot pick the greatest but i can pick the best ive played.

First off, the Diablo games have NOT been around for anywhere near 15 years.

Secondly, I HAVE been around for a lot longer than 15 years, and the one thing that stands out for me in all the games I've played over the last 25 years is that as the graphics quality got better, the game got worse.

The AI in games made today is at best equal to what was around 20 years ago, and is nearly always worse, often much worse.

The originality in games made today is horrid. How many dooms does the world really need? Once upon a time dev's came up with off the wall titles like "Sword of Aragon" or "Full Metal Planet". There are dozens of RTS's out there, and every one of them runs exactly the same. Build a base, uncover the map, farm resources, and creat guys out of thin air.

Going after an old game because it doesn't look pretty by todays standards is not the stuff of rocket science. Whatever else you want to dump on it, Diablo I was pretty original. Sure, Ultima Underworld led the way, but Diablo took the premise, made a better interface, lightened up on the RPG elements, scrapped the puzzles, and threw in a ton of arcade action.

For my money the best game of all time was "Master of Orion". It was written in the late 80's, by Microprose. It's still the best 4x game out there, and far better than either of its sequals.
